SPP 2199 – Scalable Interaction Paradigms for Pervasive Computing Environments

Closing Symposium
RESEARCH

19 projects, 2 funding phases, one shared challenge

SPP 2199 brought together 19 research projects exploring novel interaction paradigms for increasingly complex pervasive computing environments. Across two funding phases (2020–2022 and 2023–2026), the projects investigated approaches ranging from gesture, gaze, touch, and haptics to mixed reality, smart materials, privacy, and intelligent environments.

Together, they address the central challenge of scalable interaction: designing interaction concepts that remain usable and comprehensible as pervasive computing environments grow in complexity.
